Complaints About Big Management Consulting Companies

When there is one main common complaint about big management consulting firms, it is that the plans are too rigid and theoretical. The companies themselves claim that the strategies and techniques they teach and suggest actually do not work. What management consulting is supposed to do is to ensure that clients know what to do, and only half success is achieved. However, all of them agree that they do not have the answer or the right solution, and this can be a problem.

For instance, if a small business is about to expand into another country, management consulting firms will suggest a lot of new strategies that would be more appropriate for that market. However, this may also require a change in the business, and this is what they refer to as being “non-compliant”. This might be a problem because most clients would rather pay a high consultancy fee, then get something that does not work. Big management consulting companies usually seem to ignore all of these problems and complaints, and instead focus on getting more projects. They do not seem to see that this means they lose a lot of time, too. One reason is that their clients cannot implement new solutions very quickly, which means they may need to change the things and add them in a later stage. This is especially true for some companies that have to change their strategies in a short time. In fact, many people complain that they are not allowed to change the way they do things until they actually start losing money.

All big companies seem to be happy with their strategies, and are happy to see clients keep going with them. But the problems always creep up, and these consultants always ignore them. When they do solve a problem, they just say that it was caused by the client. When they think you have done something wrong, they often do not give a detailed explanation, and they just tell you that you should have done it differently.

When you go to a management consultancy to improve your efficiency or even your business, you should not feel that they are helping you. Instead, you should feel like they are helping you change yourself. and your thoughts.
